There’s a well-known Internet marketing expert with whom I have consulted on a few occasions. His name is Rich Schefren. I first learned about Rich when I read the Internet Business Manifesto, a report that he wrote and released in 2006. Rich is one of two experts in the marketing world who have had the most influence over me. The other marketing expert is Dan Kennedy.
Do you know who saw Jesus for the first time after He rose from the dead? According to the gospel of St. John, it appears as though it was Mary Magdalene, one of the women who was standing at the foot of the cross when our Lord died. (“Now there stood by the cross of Jesus, his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.” John 19:25)
When I was in grade school, a sign of status and importance among the students was whether you owned a watch. During that time (the 1960’s), watches were expensive and most parents didn’t see the need for a young student to have a watch. The rule in the home I grew up in was that unless we received a watch as a gift from a relative or bought our own, we had to wait until we were in 8th grade before our parents would buy us a watch.
Beginning a week and a half before Easter Sunday and continuing until the day after Easter, the New York Times published at least 10 different (lengthy) articles about past and current allegations of abuse in the Catholic Church. The theme woven throughout the articles was that prior to being chosen to lead the Church, Pope Benedict was directly responsible for some priests being allowed to continue to victimize young boys, because he allegedly failed to act on information that had been provided to him.
