While attending Mass on Thursday of last week (March 25th), I wondered how many Catholics knew what day it was. Do you know what day March 25th was?
One of the fundamental concepts taught by the Catholic Church is that God gave each of us a “free will” to do whatever we choose to do and that He will not (and does not) force us to do anything.
Last week, on Christmas Eve morning, David Myers, the 21 year old son of one of our weekly adorers, Ceil Myers, died as a result of an auto accident. David was home from college for the holidays. He was due to graduate from college this coming semester, and scheduled to begin medical school in the fall.
Last week when I stopped at the bank to deposit a check, I noticed a stack of free newspapers on a table next to the entrance doors. The newspapers were titled: Ladies First, Central Illinois Edition. I had never seen the Ladies First newspaper and was curious as to whether there were any attorneys who were advertising in it, so I picked one up and started paging through it.
I want to thank everyone who responded to my request to pray for my mom. Her heart surgery (double bypass) was successful and, although it took a couple of days to get her pain under control, she is making very good progress and should be released to go home early next week.
